Professional Experience

Ludmila joined the firm in 2018 as a legal intern, but currently works as a Mid-Level Associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Team.

She has experience with national and multinational companies from different market segments, on issues related to privacy, e-commerce, technology transfer and development, and on various aspects of internet regulation and social networks.

Her practice includes strategic advice on complex data protection, cybersecurity and Internet regulation matters; drafting, negotiating and reviewing agreements involving intellectual property and technology, such as supply of technology, trademark license, patent license, franchise, copyright license, software license and distribution, SaaS outsourcing.

As a highlight, she has closely worked on projects with cross-border impacts, such as:

  • Continuously assisting German automotive companies to navigate in Brazilian complex regulatory landscape related to the offering of a wide range of services including: (1) a NFT platform; and (2) several in-car services through a device bundled in vehicle connected to the internet (IoT).
  • Continuously assisting global entertainment company in diverse innovative projects, such as (1) a project related to the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) application developed by a third party vendor to produce and generate synthetic or other voice output for movies; (2) initiative for a marketing campaign involving generative AI tools embedded within an Internet application, in connection with the launch of a new blockbuster movie to occur globally.

Academic Background

She holds a degree in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and a master degree (L.L.M.) in Civil Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ).

Activities outside the office

She co-tutored for one year a study group on arbitration and intellectual property from the Brazilian Center of Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA). Her work at this project included the organization of seminars with renown scholars in Brazil to discuss hot topics on IP and arbitration (e.g. Webinar on Arbitration and Intellectual Property); and organization of the publication of a book with contributions from more than 10 different authors (publication expected for 2024).

She is a frequent speaker in seminars and conferences. For instance, she held a lecture commenting data privacy legal aspects of Bill of Law No. 2338, that aim at regulating the use of AI Systems in Brazil, available at  Youtube.
