COVID-19: BPTO’S DEADLINES ARE NOW SUSPENDED UNTIL MAY 31, 2020

Following the actions to prevent the infection and the spread of COVID-19, the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO) has just published an update regarding deadline extension in the Electronic Official Bulletin No. 2575, of May 12, 2020.

The temporary suspension of all deadlines (previously covering the time period from March 16, 2020 to May 15, 2020) has been extended until May 31, 2020. In addition, the Office extended remote working for public officers and announced that face-to-face services will be unavailable until May 31, 2020. We note, however, that applications, requests and petitions may be filed electronically during this period.
